I downloaded a few events and things from the library at galciv.com and I haven't seen any of the events, or been able to build any of the ships or anything in my game. Do I have to start a new game for these to take effect? I did what the file's readme said to do, put the pcx file into the Gfx directory and put the .event file into the data directory. Did I do it wrong? I own the deluxe edition, do the things in the library here not work with altarian prophecy? I think I might have put them in the altarian prophecy Gfx and data directories, should I have put them in the galactic civ directories? Thanks in advance for your help.

In order to avoid some cheating, adding mods after a game has started has no effect on the current game. You need to start a new one.
