Hi,

i noticed in my info-tab under diplomacy, that the AI is spending lots of money for spying (about 16K or so). In addition to their normal spending for military, social and research they have a total spending of about 20K without running into negatives. So the AI must have at least 20K income.

On the other hand my population, my trade and my economy is listet as superior. I have the most and best developed colonies - maintenance for social, spying and military is about 3K/turn and i think that's ok. My total income is about 7K anyway - far less than the AI. How could that be?

what difficulty are you on? the AI is normally given % bonuses (including economics) depending on difficulty level. also depends on trade (ie freighter routes) and also tech trades and tribute (BC's per month) and also whether they have an economic resource or 2 to plunder. whip their arse is wot i say

hm, it's normal difficulty and their listed economy and trade bonusses are far lower than mine. Do they get some hidden bonusses (that was my question)? They trade far less than me because i managed everybody to go to war with each other. The freighters heading to the only Minor wich is not involved are intercepted when coming through my territory (this minor is surrounded by my empire). Tribute is theoretically possible but, again, there is one minor only with still lots of cash so i dont think the AI (must be all in this case because all have this super budget) get tributes.

Edit:
The economic ressources gives you a bonus that is listet in the info/statistics tab. But this ressources can help you to reach the planetary income cap only. Any income above is negligible. Sometimes i wonder if the AI has this cap too...

This is a misinterpretation. The value in the stats page is cumulative, i.e. it's all they spend in the hole game. Not only in one turn.

Ah - ok. But it's confusing because the rest of the expenses is given as a per-turn-value. Thank you!

Uh... how do you find out how much the AI is spending on spying?
