Make supply ships. Supply ships help extend range, so if you have a supply ship in a sector, your ships can travel through that sector freely. Supply ships, however, have a maximum range, which is pretty far out.

What's a supply ship? Do you mean trade ships? Perhaps you are talking about a mod that I don't have.

No supply ships I can remember. There are constructors used to build star bases which do extend range.
