AP Crash -- Please help!

I bought AP in anticipation of GalCiv2 however the game crashes when I start the main campaign. I'm running the latest versions of GalCiv and AP.

After I get setup for the campaign and the galaxy loads I arrive at the technology screen. Only there are no technologies showing. When I close that screen the galaxy display screen is entirely red. When I clicked on menu I got the Windows error report thing. This has happened several times.

I played the bonus pre-GalCiv2 campaign first and the same problem occurred when I tried to load a campaign game from the main screen by clicking on the "Load Game" icon. The problem would not occur when I clicked on "Campaign" and loaded that way.

Has anyone faced (and hopefully beaten) this problem?

Not sure to be honest

However if it does it again please go to the folder you installed AP into and you should see a file there called 'debug.err' please copy and zip this file and then send it to cbegle@stardock.com explainig the situation. CariElf is busy with the new GCII but i am sure she will get back to you as fast as she can. If you havent heard back in a couple of days just send her a polite reminder (once) as sometimes the emails with zips get forwarded to her junkmail folder.

The debug.err file lists the state of the game prior and post to the crash.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I reinstalled the game after posting. It fixed the problem. I think the problem was that I played the bonus pre-GalCiv2 campaign before playing the regular AP campaign.

When the error occurred, it said the first mission in the AP campaign was mission five or six instead of one (it was a mission where you could win by a cultural influence victory).

I guess there's a bug that confuses the game about the two campaigns being separate if you complete the newer one first. It would be understandable considering most everyone would have beat the AP campaign long before getting to the new one.

Yes I had this problem two times, too.
