I'm planning on making a videogame like Galactic Civilizations/Civilization in Blitz3d, and I ask you a question: How does the difficulty settings affect to the AI of the CPU players in the game? I don't mean, they can be more stupid/smart, just about what characteristics does it have respect of the difficulty settings.

The difficulty settings affect how much money the other races get. Nothing else. Obviously, the smartest AI in the world will have trouble beating you, if you get 50 times the money that the AI does.

That's not true below the "intelligent" setting. There the difficulty also affects the algorithms available for the AI. i.e. the AI gets much smarter.
