Game Malfunction

Tried loading up GalCiv1 today, and everything appeared to work fine. Up until I started a new game. After the new game intro finished, and the gamefield loaded, I couldn't click on anything.. The mouse moved, and the music played normally, but nothing was clickable.

Any suggestions?
