Are the Stardock servers reaching their limits - or "Captain, she canna take any more"

Posts in a few recent threads have mentioned that the Forum pages seem to be loading slowly of late. I've noticed that, even on a cable modem, I'm averaging over 30 seconds to load ANY thread. Often, I need to try to load a page twice. This is a relatively new phenomenon. In the FOTR thread (post 2170), kryofx speculated:
| I get the feeling that stardock's network is just nearing its limit... |
|
A few thoughts here:
1. Is this an isolated phenomenon, or is everyone experiencing it?
2. Is it a short-term phenomenon (for instance, as a result of traffic from the stand-alone patch being available) or is it here to stay?
3. What can we do about it?
Brad, Cari, and everyone at Stardock: You'd know better than any of us out here if this is a problem. If storage space is an issue, I suppose that there are many, many threads that are no longer in active use that could be sacrificed for better performance. It seems a shame to wipe out Forum history, but it's clear that this is becoming awkward for many users.
If bandwidth is the issue, on the other hand, I suppose we should be thankful that the game is getting more popular, BUT...

Some threads, like the Fellowship thread, are taking a while to load for me, but others load quickly. My problem may be with my I-Book, which is what I am using right now, because I've noticed that it has a slower connection than my regular computer. I'll respond again in a few days; whenever I can get on my PC.
(edit)My spelling is pitiful. I think it is correct now.

| The servers are in transition right now from Atlanta to California. That could be the cause. |

Thanks for the update, Brad. That's quite an extension cord you have there...

Insanity fits this group pretty well, I'd say!
