As you may have noticed from my mods, I am really into things that give both bonuses and subtractions. It forces you to make a real choice, and nothing like this was included in original Galciv.
It is a difficult problem.
I think you need a list of the existing civs, so that the evil one is different to them and not too difficult or easy.
The War Party might be similar to the one above, not sure from memory.
Stardock have a lot of experience in this.
Maybe they are reading this thread and would like to comment?
there are others that have ben added by moders. but these are the main ones.
the one i have been playing for a while and which i have won on is as follows
+traits
military prod +20
sensors +2parcec
espionage +25
soldiering +20
-traits
economic -15
pop growth -10
espionage -30
hope this helps with your decisions. pick the traits you like the sound of for + and -. or if you would rather stick one of the above let me know and i'll just rename and stick the logo on it.
The War Party as I recall just gives +50 hit points. I still don't like the idea of a government pick subtracting stuff from you. I mean, the whole point of being evil in the first place was to get bonuses right? Otherwise everyone would be pure good and let all the worms live and leave indigenous life forms alone.
at the dark lords request, i am off to kill some Altarians.(play the game) if you wish to leave a message do so here. or email me Email
please leave ideas for council mod. doesnt matter if you dont intend to use it. but need some more ideas.
once the dreaded Altarians are vanquished i will return. all other empires in my way MOVE ASIDE, i will stop for nobody!
Citizen MM77 - 11/16/2003 9:15:47 AM It FEELS so GOOD! to be so BAD!
you are not yet evil enough to join the Evil empire. but you are well on your way there. follow the evil feelings in your heart. embrace hate release your anger. kill your slaves
I have just tried this party picks out for a game and was able to win without any extra help or trouble/ doeas hurt a bit when you lose power though (more fun that way)
+traits
pq +5
government +10
ship speed +1parcec
loyalty +10
-traits
population growth -50
diplomacy -50
economics -10
anyone like the sound of these choices?
if you lose control of the government it will make things a bit tight for a while, but it will not stop you from expanding or going to war.
