Just to roughly see how many people are actually using the mods site, could you post a reply just saying "yes" if you are. Thanks

Did you actually get anomalous scores with the terraforming techs or did you just nerf it as a precaution?

PJ,

Sorry... You're right. It wasn't the terraforming techs it was the Tachionic Defense Field and Advanced Environmental Control I nerf'd. They each add to the PQ ability and also have other abilities so I removed the PQ abilities and left the others.

The following also mod the PQ Ability...

Wonders and trade goods... Scentless Fertilizers

PolParties... Ecologist, Agriculturist, The Evil Empire, Jedi Academy and Middle Earth.

And you also still have the default items shiped with the game.

So unless you are careful, it's very easy to get a zero because of PQ ability by using mods.

As you may have heard, i am assisting Stardock with the general running of the Galciv Mods Library. This does not mean that the Mods site will stop being updated or anything else.

Please keep the mos coming to me at the site.

Lord Megatron, should I still keep sending mods to your email address and to the Library?

Yep.

P J did you get the email from me about the anomaly?

#63  by Citizen PJ_ - 1/6/2004 7:33:58 PM

Yeah, I got it. I had no idea 2% increases to Creativity could be significant enough to cause anomalous scores, since you could buy 25% with 1 point and nobody seemed to know what it did. I don't suppose you know/can tell any of the paramaters that we have to stay within to avoid going anomalous?

I don't see how you can run two mod libraries. Kind of defeats the purpose of both but GREAT JOB! I still check your site out once in awhile. I don't use that many mods in my game, just haven't found any I like except the terraforming mods and the nano mod. If you need any help just ask. School will keep me busy but I still have some time.

Thanks Hut101

PJ it was more along the lines that, if the anolmaly is hit a lot of times on a gigantic map it could push it over the limit. im just waiting to verify with SD what ceiling for it is. it may just need to be edited and the frequency turned to infrequent or les.

I completed another game with all mods installed. BTW, there is another mod that doesn't work correctly - the Theme Park mod to SB in the Quality area does not work. I submitted my game to Metaverse and it was NOT anomolous. Now, I say to myself, what did I do differently? The only thing that I can think of is that I refused to trade with majors for until two council meetins had passed (I assume that this is two years). I ammased over 225,000 bc before I started the end game of taking over the galaxy through influence. This was done through SB proliferation. The majors all gave me advanced technology, including the ships Overlord and Excaliber. All I had was 50+ corvetts. BTW, I was playing small galaxy with sparce planets. That means that most majors get only 2 star systems. It also slows them down as they are separated because of lack of planets to colonize.

So, what to I conclude? PQ increase from the mods is not an issue. There are other reasons that generate anomolous games. But, mods may exsaserbate the problem. It would be really nice if Stardoc would tell yoy something about the trigger that caused anomolous games. It could be general so that you at least knew the area that caused the problem, such as "you exceded the amount of BC allowed in the first two years." It doesn't reveal the trigger point, but at least points one in the area to avoid through strategy in your game play.
