Played on normal intel, normal size, I was a pacifist with 50% weapons, luck and creativity. I had great starting position, and 4 galactic resources including 1 in a five planet system that had not one planet under 15, WOW!
So I set military to 100 cranked out colony ships, expanded as far as fast as I could, My only neighbors were the yellow (best) and the red (weak). I had no fleet, so predictibly yellow starts asking for planets and eventualy goes to war, I used a colony ship to offer them a "planet" on my border befor the war twice, no go. Still no fleet. Predicable, (in a good way)
Then I Put research to 100, got defectors, put military and spening to 100 granked out an instant fleet of defenders in 6 turns on all my planets.
I talked to the yellow guys with what was now the top military in the game and It seems they made a mistake.
The long and short of it is the game seems balanced to me, I did not that one of the minors gave me 100 for 24 months for a trade good, that seemed like too mutch. Good job!

No, the new terror star explosion won't be in until the expansion.

Completed my first game with the newest version yesterday.
I have to say, I really like it! Especially the early tech & trading is way more balanced now.
Hm, if you keep upgrading the AI the way you do now for some more months, you'll create a monster!
(Please do it )
