Cotal jumped off the Fellowship bandwagon and landed back in ANZAC. Hey, nothing like a challenge, right?

Thanks for the changes... the X-wing you found is just fine.

Hey Obi Wan... do you think you can add a picture for me to my Listing on the Jedi Republic page? I would (if possible) like my picture to be of Ki-Adi-Mundi. (The Cerean guy from the Jedi Council) Thanks in advance if you can.

Arcilte,

No problem - would be happy to dig around and come up with something suitable for our top scorer.

By the way, based on an earlier post (that I'll probably live to regret), your Jedi rank also entitles you to a custom lightsaber handle, as well as blade color. You might want to check out this photo that I pieced together after scouring the web.

Any thoughts?

Not to be disrespectful to the Jedi art of lightsaber building (thanks for the link) but I notice that on most of those models the 'on/off' button seems to be quite a protuberence!

Do you Jedi ever have any problems with your sabers switching on or off at awkward times . . . ?

#331  by Veteran Gerakken - 8/27/2003 2:45:52 AM

Bah! The switches are an old Jedi trick to make an opponent think there is a switch. They all know that they can activate and de-activate the weapon using the Force if they wanted to. It is just funner to give any opponent a perceived weakness to exploit.

hehehe.... i can imagine it now... like the old western gunfighters.. shooting off their toes while drawing their guns...

OOPS!!!!! dang.... I loose more toes every time i practice the quick draw ....

Soon they won't have a leg to stand on...

I['d better shut up now...

Bluesteel starts backing away from the approaching jedi... all of which have their light sabers already drawn... no mistakes this time.... {Gulp}

Thanks Obi Wan. I think I like the handle for Ki-Adi-Mundi. If I have a choice of saber color I would prefer green. Thanks again!

OK, Arcilte, your player profile on the Jedi Republic website has been updated.

http://www.angelfire.com/theforce/jedi_republic/ Link

I also note that Qui-Gon, StBlasius and KEmperor are already eligible for custom handles, if they so desire. You guys may want to check out the link to some artwork that I can use here:

Qui-Gon, if you want the cool "Qui-Gon" handle, I can change the standard JR saber to the good old Episode IV "flashlight" version to set yours apart. It's not really much more work than giving a special one to an individual.

And KEmperor, I have a pretty good idea what you have in mind for yours...

Remember, if you don't have a picture on the website yet, just ask.

Sure, Obi, thanks!

I see ANZAC has sailed into 6th place ahead of us. No doubt, they have resubmitted some old games with the latest beta in order to benefit from the scoring increase for harder levels.

Any Jedi/Sith who have the beta are encouraged to do so as well. If you don't have the beta, hang onto any saved games that you may want to re-submit once the free expansion pack is available in a couple of weeks.

nope we got some new members and submitted some games we are doing it all the old fashoned way

I remember the knight-on-knight duel in BattleChess 4000 (an old sci-fi version). Normally, they use blasters, but in this case, they draw lightsabers. The duel goes on for a while, then one guys smacks the other's lightsaber away and the loser hits the ground. The winner raises his saber and is about to smash when the batteries fall out. He looks down at the batteries. The "loser" watches for a moment, then draws his blaster and shoots the other guy.

Qui-Gon,

Will do on the saber. Y'all understand that these things take a bit of free time, so please be patient.

Regarding re-submitting scores - So much talk about cheese tactics lately has me thinking ethics. I could probably dig out a few saves, but I'd rather just start from scratch. If the new beta is out, a fresh Painful should score pretty well for me, especially as I've only turned in 1 game in the past month. Might even give Crippling another shot, even though the last one had me hanging on by my fingernails.

The wooden hull on that ANZAC ship should make a great target for proton torpedoes. Where's X-Wing Sierra?

Quack,

Remember the Energizer Bunny commercial where Vader's saber dies? Classic.

Thanks Obi Wan! Picture and saber look great.

No problem, I really do appriciate all the extra effort you put into the web site.

Gee, I never looked at it that way... I do feel kinda cheesy. Not even good cheese... more like velveeta or some kind of govt. surplus handout processed cheese substitute or something.

Congrats on your promotions to Veterans, Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon!

Cool beans, but how did we do that? We must be stronger in the force than I thought.

And now for a drunk posting at 4:30 in the morning:

And KEmperor, I have a pretty good idea what you have in mind for yours...

Do tell, I look foward to seeing what you have in mind. The pic was pretty sweet, lets see what the saber itself can do.

Congrats on your promotions to Veterans, Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon!

Yes, congrats on the promotions. I'm sure you deserve it. I do wish it was clear what exactly one had to do to get promoted, however.
