Wow, thanks, everybody. And thank you, Stardock! Congrats to you as well, Qui-Gon.

KEmperor, there is no set formula for promotions that anybody has verified. Helping out people in a bind and general contributions to the atmosphere and community seems to have an effect. But mostly, one needs to be noticed doing these things by Stardock. StBlasius, for example, is a Diplomat already - the related comments are a few pages back, I believe.

(I find it suspicious that after being here for a few months, I was promoted less than 24 hours after offering Cari chocolate. Hmmm... )

As our first Sith Master, you deserve a creative saber. If you have no suggestions, I'll come up with something and see if you approve.

All: I don't know how much time I'll be able to spend in here over the Labor Day weekend, what with family commitments. If you have time for GalCiv, let's give those ANZACs a run for their money and take our old spot back!

Having been away for a while (busy with work, aka damn viruses, and home, aka school started, aka kids getting used to homework again), I am just now noticing how many new members we have in our empire and how long it has been since I played. I just want to welcome all the new members, enjoy the great game, and try to knock off all the other empires so we can acquire the first place spot. Lofty goals, I know.

All the Jedi's, how about shouting out where you are from and what you do? I am from South Carolina, USA, and am a systems engineer for a CLEC (voice, data, web hosting, ISP, you get the picture) and by the way, we just went EBITA positive and looking for cash flow positive first quarter next year!

Good luck

- Count Dooku

PS. Can't wait for the expansion pack to come out; great job dev's!

Our next Jedi is also a software engineer originally from a small town in Nebraksa. He now calls Central Pennsylvania his home. He enjoys golf, reading, and live theatre. Please welcome Qui-Gon Jinn!

Careful - MM77 might assume that you're intending Cari for the date!

I'm a technical writer, graphic artist and frequently-frustrated Bears fan in central Tennessee, having recently moved from Chicago.

Our next contestant is.....KEmperor! Come on down!

Originally from a suburb of New York City, he currently lives in New Orleans, LA where he is studying at Tulane University.

Oh, I almost forgot:

As our first Sith Master, you deserve a creative saber. If you have no suggestions, I'll come up with something and see if you approve.

I have nothing particular in mind, and my artistic ability is up there with my ability to fly on my own power. I'm sure you will come up with something, I only ask that it be suitably evil...

Congrats, vets!

And good luck with your dates

A belated congrats to the new vets!

Bluesteel is right, there has been a deluge of promotions lately. And the Stardockians are posting more. Good times on the forums.

Let's see... what to say about me... I'm working on my master's in Computer Engineering in Dallas, and I've been employed as a Software QA Engineer for the last two years but that ends next week The job market in Dallas is saturated. Can't find a Digital Design or a software development entry level position. I keep saying to myself "One of these days..." but I probably should change it to "One of these years..."

I am a high school sophmore in Southern Maryland. I just started school this week, so I don't know how much I'll be able to contribute for a while.

BTW, does anyone know how long it takes for a library submission to go through? I submitted something a couple of days ago, but I still don't see it.

Admiral,
I do not believe the Dev's check that too often with everything else going on. I submitted one at the beginning of the month but have not seen it yet. Plus, I don't know if there is some kind of criteria or testing they do on them also. Of course, I could be totally wrong here.

The once distinquished and hallowed halls of the Jedi Republic Council Chamber have been reduced to serve as the hallway phone on a college dorm floor.

Qui-Gon looks on in sadness as a single tear rolls down his cheek... Perhaps he should go write a haiku.

Nice to know that even a Diplomat can empty his recycle bin prematurely.

(Obi-Wan pauses, thinks for a second)

Hey! Are you callin' me trash? Ooh...why...I oughta... (destroys inconveniently-placed wall with his lightsaber)

Ray, you can email me here: mmpavlovic@comcast.net Email

By the way, Qui-Gon, congrats on 50K Mverse points. I'll probably be able to put in a bit of time on the JR website tomorrow. Any thoughts on your new saber color?

Thanks, Obi Wan. A nice pale green would be quite lovely, thank you.

Woohoo, I'm finally advancing in difficulty levels again. My strategy apparently works much better when I decrease the number of habitable planets.

Congrats on winning at Challenging, KEmperor!

Obi Wan:
I cut and pasted your t.v. recruitment add as a response to a recruitment thread. I hope you don't mind my doing that, but I wanted ours to be the first response to the thread asking for recruitment pitches. I gave you credit in the first line.

#371  by Veteran Samurai Ben - 9/3/2003 9:53:18 PM

Qui-Gon:

No problem at all - we need recruits!

All:

Real Life is still wreaking havoc with my GalCiv schedule. While I may not be able to visit the Forum much - if at all - for a few days, I shall return. May the Force be with you all.

#372  by Citizen KEmperor - 9/3/2003 11:46:05 PM

Good work, and in my opinion, ours is the best so far in the thread.

I like the Jedi ad very much too. Well, except for that pathetic apprentice which I've mentioned before should join the Fellowship for some training.
