Why are you so far down the ladder then

We're so far down the ladder because we've played the second least number of games. If we had as many games as you, we would be in fourth at least.

I'm trying to get another game in, but I don't seem to have the time...

1) We're only 1 place behind you BlueSteel.
2) Every empire above us in the rankings has more members and hence has many more battles.

I see that you Jedi are still licking your wounds since the ANZAC Republic walked all over you

Take away Cotal and The NewfyScotian and you have no better score than we do.

All the nights of Jedi Republic, is it alright for me to run around and recruit clanless citizens? We always needs fresh new padawins.

Greetings Berserk! I've just caught up with the forums since school has been keeping me away. Most of our forum contributing members have had real life intervene with their GalCiv, but hopefully new members like yourself will help keep the activity level up. You can recruit all you want but don't force (haha... no pun intended ) anyone to join.

Maybe we can start some strategy talk in here. I'm kind of getting to the point of playing all my games the same way since it works for me. I'm trying to get up to maso, but I can't win quite yet.

I noticed you had an anomalous game. Did you try contacting support@stardock.com Email and figure out what happened? It's been awhile so if you don't have the save game, then there's probably nothing they can do.

Well, unfortunately I know exactly why I have an anomalous score. I'm using GC writer making whole bunch of mods for GC. I was testing how much PQ stardock is willing to take as fair game. That anomalous game had average PQ of 85. I guess they consider that as cheating.

Even now half of my GC data files are moded. Ships are all moded, improvements are about 75% moded. Techs are about 50% moded. I have 3 new ships, 25 new improvements, and 7 new techs. All working just fine.

Actually, if you are playing my mod with painful difficulty, the game is not that hard to win but with cripling or mesochistic, it gets very hard.(even harder than original) Because computer is also researching all the tech and building improvements that I added.

Some of the improvements I made are Galactic Fleet Command(wonder increases ship hitpoints), Genesis(wonder improves PQ), Ion Cannon(tradegood improves ship attack), High Density Titanium(tradegood improves ship defense), Mega Particle Cannon(tradegood improves ship attack), Hyper Banking Center(improvements improves economics), Terminator Factory(Evil only wonder improves soldiering), and much more.

All the ships and improvements are very cheep at the beggining of the game, but it gets twice as much(even three time more expensive) middle part and later part of the game. One thing I noticed is that computer will make lots of different kind of ships in the game.(not just battleships and frigates or overlords and excalibur) They even build battleships and dreadnaught even they have technology to build excalibur.

You already know the numbers. 6.6 games per member is nowhere near the 15 or so game per player bar set by the top two empires. Show the same amount of dedication right now with no new recruits, and we'll be seeing the Jedi as the #3 power in the Meta. Play more games and recruit as well, then maybe the current duopoly will be broken. It is not only time to get to work with playing for those who can, but X-pack madness strikes soon. This will hopefully revive old players who might rethink where they are going empire wise and attract new players as well. It would be advantgeous to position yourselves to catch these people if they float by with an aggressive recruiting campaign, as every other empire who cares about recruiting is going to try to reel in some new fish as well.

Transmission from Berserk Jedi Padawin.

To my fellow Jedi, Sith nights. I have urgent rumor about ANZAC Republic planing an massive attack on Jedi Republic. I have acted on my own to investigate this rumor.

I have traveled to far northwest end of our empire sector 48.84, crossing Fellowship of the Ring empire into the heart of evil GROSS. I hasitated a bit to enter the heart of evil fearing I might get killed just by looking at them. But force was with me, have succeeded crossing the shortest way through sector 66.44 and 65.36.

In sector 65.35, I have seen European Empire all geared up sending countless soldiers to ANZAC Republic. Looks to me, long sleeping Euros are waking up fighting battles against ANZACs.

Currently, I'm at secter 69.30, far west border of ANZAC Republic. My investigation will continue...

May the force be with you.

Could I please have your permission to publish the chapters that you wrote for "The Journey" when I was in Jedi space.

I want to include them in the War of Worlds web site.

Transmission from Berserk Jedi Padawin.

My current location is sector 88.9 in the heart of ANZAC empire. It seems no ANZAC overlords been aware of my activity here. It apeared to be ANZAC is fighting a difficult battle against awakening Euros.

The rumor is different here, ANZAC is not trying to attack Jedi Republic. It seems more likely they consider Jedi Republic as falling sun.

I shall return from this journey...

After a week's foray into Real Life, the Jedi ponders what he has learned.

- Bourbon Street, New Orleans. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. Even if you're just visiting for a trade show.

- If you're going to get sick, it always seems to happen on the first weekend in MONTHS that has decent weather. Regardless of how many sick days you've accumulated at work.

- Family is important, particularly when you're 500 miles away and one of them is in the hospital.

Fellow Jedi, I apologize for my extended absence. I'm back, though. The JR website has been updated with information on our new members. A special greeting to Berserk74 - it's actually embarrassing that the Council doesn't have a single lily-white happy face on it anywhere, but that you've been able to accomplish it.

Now that I'm back, I'll get to work on the website graphics. First up are the long-promised saber updates for Qui-Gon and KEmperor. Just so you know where we're going here, the "original trilogy" saber is going to become our standard version to let Qui-Gon get his special saber handle.

To our new members, if you want a "portrait" instead of the standard logo on our Roster page, give me an idea of what you have in mind. Berserk74, your rank also gives you your choice of saber handle and color. You can check out a few handles here:

Thanks for holding down the fort, guys. (Obi-Wan starts humming "We Shall Overcome")

No problem here, Bakka. Now that "real life" is quieting down a bit, I've been contacted by Ray, G., idle & Co. to work on the WotW site. But the Jedi updates come first. In the meantime, you can certainly go ahead and post my story. I'm sure that Yoda would likewise have no objection.

May the Force be with y'all.

Do I get a custom saber handle, too?

#413  by Veteran Samurai Ben - 9/14/2003 3:44:41 PM

Admiral Sherbert:

Yes. As Jedi Masters, both yourself and Daravain are now eligible for your own custom handles. Let me know what you have in mind. If you don't see anything you like on the suggestions page (http://www.angelfire.com/theforce/jedi_republic/sabers1.jpg Link), I can work with most anything you can come up with in a side-on view.

BTW, congrats on your promotion. I'll have the website updated with your new rank shortly.

Can I have Vlace Windu ep.II? The one with gold on it.

By the way, my next game is almost done. As you can see from my scores, the dark force is calling upon me lately. It would take very long time for me to become a sith knight but this might be the greatest chellenge I have now.

#415  by Citizen KEmperor - 9/14/2003 4:37:36 PM

Hope you enjoyed New Orleans. Good thing you weren't here a week later, Hurricane Isabel might wipe it off the map.

Looking foward to the site updates.

Transmission from Berserk Jedi Chosen One.

First of all, fellow Jedi, sith knights, I got promoted to Chosen One. Certainly, this title is more than I deserve. Master Obi Wan, thank you.

I'm currently at the far east sector of rising Evil Empire. Dark force is strong here, ummm very strong. My research of this dark force will continue...

My fellow Jedi:

At long last, the Jedi website has been updated with all of the many, many recent changes:

http://www.angelfire.com/theforce/jedi_republic Link

Remember, anyone who's still using the default logo is welcome to request a portrait instead.

KEmperor, as our ranking Sith, I got a bit carried away with yours. It's based loosely on Maul's, with a few color changes. Hope you approve.

Now that all of these changes are in, maybe I'll have time to actually play a game...

#419  by Citizen Berserk74 - 9/15/2003 12:38:17 AM

I have a morality question. I played 23 pure good, two normal, one chaotic evil, and one pure evil. My question is why is my smile blue? If I got one pure evil game, then makes my smile blue?

BTW, master Obi Wan, can you put one of those trade federation destroyer droid for my portrait? (or just regular droid is fine)

Berserk74,

Looks like you're just starting to creep away from pure good - it's probably tougher to stay there than any other alignment, judging from how fast you're leaving that blue-white smiley behind. I finalized the web updates half an hour ago, and you're already a new alignment...

AAARRRGH! More updates needed. Well, I'm going to have to dig a bit to find a decent pic for you anyway, Berserk - I should be able to get to your updates tomorrow night. But it's midnight here, so I need to run for now.

P.S. I like the "droideka" idea - though I'd shudder seeing one of those things waving a lightsaber around while it rolled down the hallway...

Excellent work Obi Wan. I was thinking something along those lines for my saber, but I was worried how it would turn out on the site. I think it came out well.

#422  by Veteran Samurai Ben - 9/15/2003 2:10:09 PM

Berserk74,

OK, you're a destroyer droid: http://www.angelfire.com/theforce/jedi_republic/active2.htm Link

I also took the liberty of making your saber look a bit different by using a "flame" color that's pretty close to the lasers the destroyers use. (This will also save me from having to update your "alignment" saber color if it keeps shifting.) If you want another color, let me know.

KEmperor:

Glad you approve - I honestly wasn't sure how it would look. Remember, 50K Mverse points and you can pick a blade color...

All:

Stumbled across this link today. If you're a Star Wars fan without being one of THOSE fans, it's hilarious: http://www.ugo.com/channels/filmTv/features/eleven/strangeststarwars/ Link

May the Force be with y'all.

Admiral Sherbert,

Likewise, congrats. Your new handle is up on the website. As I'm getting started on a game that should kick me up to Jedi Master when it's done, we're looking at our first duplicate "custom" handle. Hmmm...

KEmperor,

Looks like Isabel is veering north. Bad news for the Carolinas and Virginia, but good news for Nawlins. Then again, most ANY change might be good for Bourbon Street, but I digress.

All:

I'm emailing Yoda to ask him to get his little green butt over here for a bit of housekeeping. We have a few Senators who haven't been very active of late; it might be a good idea to bump them down to Overlord until they return to make room for some of our more active players in the Senate ranks.

As another option, we could just expand the Senate membership cap, which Yoda has set at 8; but that's either his decision, or will call for a Senate vote.
