After long though and consideration, decided I have, to hold a new election for the Jedi Council. Inactive members up for replacement on the council, include:
Arcilte
Moff Tarkin
Count Dooku

Thats three new councilers needed!

IF the above councilers reafirm their status, immediatly off the replacment list they will be. This is to see who is truly just tied up. All active jedi are eligible to run, reguardless of score or alignment (KEmperor..).

The first election will take place Monday, September 22nd. If you would like to run, simply post and say you are running for the council. ANY NOMINEE MUST BE CONFIRMED BY THE COUNCIL MEMBERS PRIOR TO BEING ACCEPTED ON THE COUNCIL.

Good luck all ye nominee's!

Well, might as well throw my hat in the ring. I'm running for the council in an effort to bring balance to the force. (Not for any selfish reasons of course. This is an altruistic run.... , damn, couldn't keep a straight face.) Get out there and vote.

#453  by Citizen Arcilte - 9/17/2003 7:05:41 PM

I'm here... kinda. I've been busy with College. Not a whole lot of time to play GC and do school work.

#454  by Veteran Samurai Ben - 9/17/2003 7:18:30 PM

OK, that apparently leaves Tarkin out there somewhere...Hello?...

Arcilte, you still seem pretty active - particularly by my standards (Finish a game? Umm, do I have a week?)

Yoda, Sephlock also seems to be MIA. I haven't seen him post on the boards recently. If you have his email, can you drop him a line?

#455  by Veteran Samurai Ben - 9/17/2003 7:19:26 PM

And welcome aboard, Morbutor! I'm going to do a few updates to the website this evening - do check it in a few hours: http://www.angelfire.com/theforce/jedi_republic Link

Ok, no longer open two spots are, but, Sephlock's position is availiable now, his email I do not have (he never emailed me) so unless he comes by in the next 5 days till the election, I'll just let his seat be filled. Obi, after the election, change the replaced members with the three chevron (OOO) insignia that shows their former councilship.

Let the race begin!

Our stories for WotW are now up at the well designed WotW Story Repository. There are also forms for posting a story for the JR and an "other" GC related stories section that can be used to write stories of your Jedi adventures! Check it out its cool.

My fellow Jedi:

The Jedi Republic website has been updated with the latest changes in player profiles, as well as the addition of our newest member, Morbutor. We now have TWO members who have attained the lofty rank of Chosen One (Chosen Two?!!!)

Anyway, you can check out the latest updates at http://www.angelfire.com/theforce/jedi_republic Link

Morbutor, good luck and good gaming. If you have any general strategy questions, feel free to post them here. It's also worth your while to check out the GC Strategies forum - accessible through the menu bar on the left side of this screen.

Master Yoda, considering our rise in membership of late, I suggest expanding the Council - perhaps to 10 members. If Sephlock is still absent when the nominations are voted on, that would allow for three new Senators.

We have nearly doubled in size as an Empire since the Senate cap was last increased to 8. Adding a few seats seems like a good idea.

#459  by Veteran GASherbert - 9/18/2003 12:47:25 AM

What does being on the Senate mean? I suppose I'll run for the council.

Oh, congrats Qui-Gon for Chosen One status. And welcome to our new members, Morbutor and Crazy Leg. It's not often we see a pure good alignment. Good job on those games.

Ray, according to your calculation, here is what I came up with.

If monthly block is based on when you submitted very first game, here is the result of Jon50
TS(total Score) GS(games submitted) DBSRT(divided by sqrt of number of games) RS(real score with aging score)

April 3245 TS, 7 GS, 1226.49 DBSRT, 919.87 RS
May 15746 TS, 9 GS, 5248.66 DBSRT, 4198.93 RS
June 69702 TS, 10 GS, 22041.70 DBSRT, 18735.452 RS
July 159610 TS, 16 GS, 39902.5 DBSRT, 35912.25 RS
August 60810 TS, 5 GS, 27195.05 DBSRT, 25835.30 RS
September 25950 TS, 2 GS, 18349.42 DBSRT, 18349.42 RS

Total is 103951.22 metaverse score.

Mine is

June 65431 TS, 8 GS, 23133.35 DBSRT, 19663.34 RS
July 80410 TS, 7 GS, 30392.12 DBSRT, 27352.9 RS
August 155250 TS, 11 GS, 46809.63 DBSRT, 44469.14 RS

Total is 91485.38 metaverse score.

If you look at the metaverse score Jon50 has 98811 points and I got 96501 points.

This draws me an another question, why Jon50 has less than what he supposed to have and I got more than I supposed to have?

The monthly block is calculated backwards from the date of the last date submitted or date of Metaverse wide recalc.

Jon's score

April 880/2/622/466
May 5256/7/1987/1589
June 14063/8/4972/4226
Jul 90874/11/27400/24659
Aug 129450/13/35903/34107
Sep 86760/7/32792/32792

Total 97839 (slightly off)

Berserk

June 65431/8/23133/20820
July 80410/7/30392/28872
Aug 155250/11/46810/46809

Total 96501

Ageing is 5% for Metaverse listing scores and 10% for your player profile scores.

How would I go about getting a photo on my listing?

Just say what you want. Obi Wan will try to find it.

I'm trying to get the saxophone player from the Mos Eisley band if that is at all possible. That'd be awesome.

Ah, our first "cantina" band member.

I think the game with the new patch is a little easier; it seems like if you trade with someone, they do not go to war as easily. I am playing a challenging game now and I am Pure Good; the Drengin are left and they are huge, but we are allies which is cool and funny. I don’t know if it is me, but it also seems like planets don't flip as quick as they did before in my current game.

Anyone else experienced things like this or something different? I stay up past midnight last night on 'date night' and I am paying for it now.

Four days to the election remain, get in their folks, happen often this does not! Greetings to our new members and welcome to the order. With the recent addition of Homeworld2 to my time roster, getting a game done has been somewhat of a, chore, to say the least. But I digress; good luck to all the contenders and see you all tomorrow!

An evil sax player with a lightsaber? I guess we should clap when he finishes his song, or else.

Yes, this is true. I remember someone (I think it was frogboy) saying that trade is a bigger factor in determining the A.I. attitute toward you. Your diplomacy ability is also more of a factor. So dipolmacy & trade are worth more than just making money and good deals, they keep you out of wars. This has been since the beta and I definitly take advantage of it as much as possible.

Evenin', all. Welcome to the Jedi Order, Crazy Leg. Your profile is now on the website, as well as all of the changes from recent submissions: http://www.angelfire.com/theforce/jedi_republic Link

Numbtenor21: I'll try to dig up a good photo of your persona - that one HAS to be on the web somewhere!

To all of our new members, as well as those who are starting to submit games again:

- If'n you want a "mugshot" on the website, post your thoughts here and I'll try to find something appropriate on the web. If you have a usable photo already, just email it to me at mmpavlovic@comcast.net Email.

- If you've achieved Jedi Master rank (30,000 Metaverse points), you're eligible for a custom lightsaber handle. You can find a few ideas here: http://www.angelfire.com/theforce/jedi_republic/sabers1.jpg Link If you have something else in mind, email me a "side-on" photo of virtually anything with a handle (suitable for all audiences, naturally) and I'll see what I can do.

- If you've reached Senior Advisor rank (50,000 Metaverse points) you can have any saber blade color you want. Mace Windu had to work for that purple blade; so do we. Again, post your wish list here to let me know.

All:

With new members and new submissions, we're solidly in seventh place at the moment, and are gaining a bit on the Euros. Despite being barely a third of their size. Kudos to all, and keep those submissions coming!

Just joined yesterday, thought I'd come here and say hi to y'all.

Btw, what does a council member do, beside going around, pointing a finger at self and say "A Jedi Cuncil Member I am" (Or not, I have no idea...)?

#473  by Veteran Samurai Ben - 9/18/2003 11:41:34 PM

On strategy:

I have a beta (1.09) game in progress, so haven't yet updated. For those that have, are there any significant changes in AI behavior that I should know about? I'm getting the idea that trading and keeping the peace are a bit easier - both of which are welcome changes at the higher difficulty levels.

#474  by Veteran Samurai Ben - 9/18/2003 11:50:21 PM

Realistically, all the Council members can do that the normal Overlords can't is promote other members and kick people out of the Empire if necessary.

"Emperor" - Yoda's post - takes the powers of a Senator and adds administrative privileges over the Empire itself - changing the name and logo, dropping Senators, etc. and setting the ground rules for the way the Empire works.

The primary reason we're pushing for some changes at the moment is to reward those who are active and contributing above and beyond the norm. Once you get past the administrative powers, Senate rank is just a way to show respect. And it's not bestowed by far-off Stardock, but by your fellow Jedi - just because we appreciate your efforts to help us all.
