Global warming. Pfeh. The past couple of years up in the midwest US here has had the mildest summer and coldest winters in recent memory....

That's because there are mountains there. Not as high or rugged as the ones up here, but the effect of cold air coming down from them is the same.

I like it.

It takes time to earn the trust of the EVIL EMPIRE, but I have faith that you can. We shall meet again, Lord Megatron.

It depends on what it is we are dancing around.

Just testing you Megatron.
So far so good, but it is easy to bluster and boast.

i plan to prove worthy of an alliance. i may be one, but i have the spirit of an empire!! and i despise the little good players. they do not have the brass kahoonies to be evil!!

Now you are talking my kind of language.

All you need now is to become REALLY evil. Not just that pansy red colour.

Love your coat of arms and the mugshot.

thank you, and i'm working on it. vers 1.11 seems to take a lot longer to change your profile to pure evil.
will keep in touch.

Mountains? apparently you need to work on your US Geography... the Rockies are on the other side of the country--they affect weather on the plains, but any effects this far away are negligible. No, the majority of weather here comes from the jet streams and good ol' canadian/southern US air masses (depending on the season).

i live in south-western ontario, right inbetween lake ontario, lake erie, and lake huron. i havent noticed any weather changes in my area, but then the 3 lakes make the weather fairly unpredictable, so its kinda hard to keep track of the "normal" weather.

The Beginning of the End

The Evil Empire High Council (EEHC) was summoned most uncommonly by Emperor HairytheTaco. Dark Assassin (DA) was attending some official business on Rigel IV when he got the call. DA walked into his stateroom and called Hairy.
“Yes DA.”
“What’s going on? I’m on Rigel IV on you’re behalf.”
“We have a problem in the outer rim on Wale II.”
“Wale II?”
“A big problem,” Hairy said.
“Alright, I’ll be there in a few hours.” DA hung up with Hairy and dialed the bridge, “Number 1, ready my ship I shall return to the Terror Star of Evil (TSE).”
“Yes, anything else, milord?”
“Give me some intelligence for Wale II.”
“Yes, milord.” DA sat quietly in his chair. Number 1 delivered the intelligence to DA in his chair. The report included a video tape from Wale II:

“Rioting has broken out in the streets. Armed men appear to be attacking the security force. It’s not a battle, it’s a massacre. The security force is being annihilated. Wait, someone is coming over to me.”
“Stop recording!” Before the man could answer he was shot dead. The camera man dropped the camera and ran for it but didn’t get too far before another shot put him in his grave.
The man lifted the camera and stated, “We are the Fundamentalists. This is our world now.” He dropped the camera as a bullet pierced his forehead. The last remaining security man was killed inches from the camera. Blood ran from the holes in his body.

The tape ended. A revolution on an Evil Empire controlled system is unheard of. There is no way Hairy will allow this type of treason to occur, but why would he call the EEHC to meet and not send DA to mop up this mess? “Milord, you’re ship is ready.” DA boarded his ship, the ESS Dark EVE, the most notorious ship in the metaverse. In fact, Hairy had tried to get him a more modern ship, but old habits die hard. There was no way DA would simply hand off his ship for a new one, not after all the missions and adventures the Dark EVE got him through. DA snapped back into reality to see the TSE loom into sight. If you’ve never seen it before you would cringe at his mass, its power, and it’s presence. DA saw the other EEHC member ships in dock or about to dock. He couldn’t remember the last time that they were all here.
The EEHC was assembled as DA entered into the Imperial Senate room. They were all there: bakka, HairytheTaco, Base Delta Zero, Nand1, Bucman, Evil Elvis, Marquesa De Sade, and Fulgrymm. DA was the last of the permanent senators. There were two overlords present: Big Ferret and Vajra. DA took his appropriate seat and Hairy stood to talk.
“My minions. Our great empire is threatened. There is a growing ‘Fundamentalist’, as they call themselves, movement on Wale II.”
“Milord, why not quell this threat.” Fulgrymm butted in.
“I was getting to that,” Hairy snapped, “may I continue?”
“Sorry milord.”
“These ‘Fundamentalists’ threaten our hold in those few sectors. They claim that they will destroy all evil in the metaverse. I would annihilate this threat however they managed to get some high friends very quickly.” Hairy paused for a moment, and then continued, “We need to find a way to resume control of Wale II, destroy the Fundies and all the while keeping this from becoming an intergalactic affair.”
The members began arguing amongst themselves. Everyone seemed to have a different opinion of how to deal with this. This is going nowhere fast. DA looked to Hairy but he was stressed in his chair, DA knew there was more to this story then Hairy was telling. DA stood and the room quieted down. DA is both feared and respect inside these walls and when he stood to say something everyone listened. “Milord, what are you not telling us?”
“The Altarians have threatened to remove their trade if we stop this uprising. As we all know the Altarians are our biggest trade partner, and as you know we are to dependant on them. I have taking steps to wane ourselves off our dependence to allow a certain freedom when it comes to losing trade. However we are not there yet and I fear that if we do lose them we will lose more systems than just Wale. So the conclusion is there is nothing for the empire to do.” Hairy stood and walked over to DA and handed him a note. DA began reading it, when he finished he looked at Hairy and walked out of the room. The other senators didn’t know what was happening. Hairy looked around the room and silenced anyone from talking. “This meeting is adjourned, return to your posts and await commands.”
There was a unison response, “Yes, milord.”
DA returned to his ship and quickly disappeared as fast as he had appeared. “Number 1, make course for Altarian homeworld.”
“Yes, milord.” DA went to his stateroom and began formulating a plan. This is going to be one gamble, but if it works DA will find a new place at his master’s right side.
The Dark EVE quietly waits in orbit of Altair, the Altarian homeworld. His intelligence from bakka indicates the Altarian Prime Minister’s daughter will be living Altair for Kneed. Kneed is renowned for its spas and massages. It is a place to relax, but it won’t be for long. DA followed her ship until it was out of range of Altair’s defenses, it did, however, have an escort but that wouldn’t be a problem. DA moved to be ahead of the convoy and destroyed both escorts within a matter of seconds, leaving her ship unprotected in open space. The Dark EVE used its tractor beam to secure the ship so DA could board. There were a few pockets of resistance aboard but nothing compared to what DA was prepared for. DA caught the little princess and took her aboard leaving behind a little present for the rest of her crew. The Dark EVE left the area for Wale II. Needless to say the ship was no more after a few seconds.

You said midwest, and Alberta/British Columbia are midwest, the Rocky Mountains seperate them, and they run all the way down to Mexico. Am I mistaken when I take midwest to mean the middle and to the west?

#938  by Citizen Evil_Elvis - 11/9/2003 12:57:05 PM

Oddly enough, I've seen many states a relative stone's throw from the east coast call themselves midwestern.

I always considered the plains to be midwest, from old miss' to the rockies... but even then, that's central US... Aren't misnomers a hoot?

#939  by Citizen Embird - 11/9/2003 5:02:57 PM

Don't know how to gwt in on this.
Apart from mentioning that when Queenslanders mention "Way out West, or the far west, they mean the middle of Australia."
When us Western Australians refer to anywhere except WA, it's always "The Eastern States."

No, we're still discussing Darth Kryos blunder about what midwest is.

The Dark Lord: I'm sure all your compatriots enjoyed the story as well.

Yea, I know. No one cares . Ah well, it has another 2 chapters so maybe they're waiting for the end.

Right guys?

No, we're still discussing Darth Kryos blunder about what midwest is.

'Blunder'? I'm sorry pal but the Midwest is roughly the area from Ohia to Iowa (some people may consider it to include the plains, but I don't). West of that is the plains, and east is the east coast. It's not called the Midwest because of any inherent westliness, but simply because it once was the western frontier of the US, before the Louisiana Purchase and that whatnot

#945  by Citizen Fulgrymm - 11/10/2003 12:15:29 AM

I see, they just don't like to keep up with the times when assigning designations to certain areas. As advanced as the US is, they're still backwards in some respects.

#946  by Citizen Evil_Elvis - 11/10/2003 10:05:07 AM

so the mid-eastern (as compared the the eastern) quarter of the US is the midwest?
Well, I guess you can hang on to a 150 year old misnomer as long as you want to, but Philadelphia isn't the middle of the world, the continent, or the country.

!!! NEWSFLASH !!!

The bat has been consorting with good for the past four games. The taint of neutrality has stained bakka! The batty one should commit vile, unspeakable deeds on a helpless galaxy or three posthaste.

That is all for this Spymaster special report.

#948  by Citizen Fulgrymm - 11/10/2003 1:19:19 PM

Methinks bakka no longer wishes to stay with the Evil Empire. But that's okay, I'm not as competitive as I once was so it doesn't bother me as much as it should.

#949  by Citizen Bakka - 11/10/2003 2:32:53 PM

oh bummer.

spottered..

I was treaded the line and stepped over a little to far..

Was trying not to get noticed..
