English.str accident

I tried to mod the English file. Instead of sending it to wordpad i tryed to send it to the top program. And now whenever I select it, it says it isn't a valid win32 file. Is there any way to salvage my file?

As long as it's still named English.str, it should work in GalCiv.

You can also right click on it and choose open with, or if that option is not available, hold down the shift key and right click it (and look for open with).

What program did you send the file to? Whether you can salvage the file or not depends on if and how the program modified the file. Also, list the file size and extension as it is now if possible.

You can also download the clean data files for v1.2 and replace the English.str file(http://www.joeuser.com/sdfiles/data%201.2.zip Link).

Nevermind. I just downloaded Galciv Writer and I don't need it any more. But thanx for all your help.
