Wanted to create a bio-tech that would the player allow to breed her/his own space-sharks. Cannot use the shark model, GalCiv Writer changes this into a ship model.

Anyone who can tell me how to "unlock" the Space Shark?

I made a ship that used the Space Shark model once. It got up to "Next turn" and never finished building. Me thinks that we weren't ment to be able to use the Space Shark model for ships.

the only reason one can not use the stock monster model is becase of the lack of a race 35 model. i have since altered the existing monster file so that you can complete your modding idea, which i like. you can get the new monster file here http://www.freewebs.com/guildshand/ Link at the bottom of the page
just copy it in to your mod folder and use model name Monster01 in galciv writer

Thanks to turgotZ i now got the Space Shark mod running!

Right now i'm busy testing anything in the game that has something to do with the Monster (anomaly, space zoo, etc.). If all works well i'll release the mod someday next week, including a few techs and two monster types (the normal and a stronger one). The monsters will have an upkeep cost though, but it'll be not as high as ships of the same calibre (this'll be the main advantage compared to ships), but the research cost for them'll be much higher than for ships of similar statistics. I'm also thinking about reducing the sensor range a bit, not sure on that yet.

A proplem open yet is the space monster colour. Perhaps there's anybody (turgotZ ?) who can support me with space monster models in the appropriate colours for the different races?

Or better still, DIFFERENT monsters, regarding appearance?

i can change the monster graphic to different colours, that shouldn't be to much trouble. as for differnet animated graphics, thats a little bit to involved for me right now, maybe in the future.

i look forward to try your mod, sounds fun.

Please tell me when you got the different colour models ready for use.

Right now i'm just waiting for an email reply concerning copyright for some of the fluff i want to use in the research screen. As soon as i get this permission, i'll post the mod.
