As this has not been asked in a year, Which mods do you recommend? Which mods do you find essential and why? I am just getting back into this and am not to familiar with what has come out lately. Thanks for your input

I really like the Cultural and Religious Capitals, The Sneaky Diplomats, Halut Pack, Omega Pack, Research Inc, and Moser the Alchemist's Anomaly Pack. Oh, and the Saint Pack from Matthew Downie.

This is a tough question as I find many Mods to be excellent to play with. Most all Mods are in the library, but for a few that do not make it for one reason or another, my website will have all mods that we get permission to put online. http://www.neotechgaming.com Link
