I want to make a mod that uses all entirely new ships. How can I make a mod that doesn't include any of the originals?

you need to remove the existing ship files: AntiMaterMissil.SHIP, battletransporter.SHIP, CoreShips,SHIP, deathknight.SHIP, excalibur.SHIP, shippak1.SHIP, shippak2.SHIP, shippak3.SHIP and starhawk.SHIP

Doing so you will end up with no ships, only the Starbase will be left. You should leave the .TECH files as they are, even if they include some ship specific (construction) techs, but you may do a lot damage to the tech tree if you just delete those techs

You will need to eliminate (delete) the respective graphics (MDL file if the Gfx folder) for those ships as well if you truely wish to start from scratch. Of course, you'll need new MDL ship graphic file to match your new ship descriptions and designs.

Recall, however, some tech files and events (?) actually name specific ship names which you will have eliminated. You need to change the respective tech file ship calls to whatever new names you create for your new ships. This can all get tricky... good luck!
