I thought I'd just drop by and see if galciv modding was still alive. I saw that my graphic editing suite was still getting hits, so I thought I'd check on the galciv world.
Hi Dark Rain, just wanted to take a moment and say "Thank You" very much for your gfx tools.
I have used them exclusively due to thier relative ease. They have made doing new ship graphics for my own installed copy of GC/AP possible; such as I have shared on-line from time to time; they aren't the best, but I'm learning I even figured out how to do some limited animation. Would love to see a 32 bit capibility as well (if you he time). Without your efforts, I doubt I would have even created some of my own new ship MDLs. Those new MDLs have made my game tailoring and mods all the more worth while. So, again, thank you very much!
FYI: here's a pic of some of my creations and/or adaptations (samlpe ships jpg):
hey Dark Rain. I think without your tool we wouldnt have any new ship graphics worth to speak of.
Iam looking forward to GC2 (and MoM2 if it ever comes) and hope we have better modding capabilities there (like a 3DS Max Plugin to export ship models for GC2).
I myself am still waiting for a Babylon 5 game, be it strategy or space combat. too bad Into the Fire was canceled by Sierra 1998.
But on the other side it created a huge modding community (www.firstones.com) working with alot of different games.
so far, take care and cu in the modding forum of GC2 by then! ^^
