Seprate Mod Launching Program
What we need is a way to keep our original game original while still being able to run mods. SEIV has a program that does that named the mod launcher. Basically a mod is a new file, and the mod launcher allows the player to start a non modded game or a modded game. The mod file uses its modded files first, and the files that are not present the mod uses the default game files for. Would GC benifit from this type of a system?

Darkhelmet, one of your fellow modders, is working on a mod switcher.

Hey Atrocities, just put one of your Federation ships into the game and it looks great! I just wish I had the time to put them all in there.
Still, didn't know what to do about the facing (since it's only an isometric render) but it still makes the game look incredible.
Of course, I'd never use your stuff without your permission, and esp. since you're probably already doing it yourself. Just wanted to compliment you on the modelling again.
Here's a link to his site:

Yes, I am programing it right now actually, I got a little busy with school, but that is over now so I can spend more time programing and writing.
It will be VERY basic, right now it only works with files in the dat directory(no up issues or invasion tactis) but I hope to get it working for gfx, setup, sfx and music as well...
If you want just what I have so far I can send you one, but you need to be carfull with it becasue if you arn't it will delete everything in your dat dir. Just e-mail me at Email
