i whent into the data folder to see if i could change the propertys of the the antimattermissle ans i copyed the file onto my desktop.

then i changes its file type to note pad cause it wount open as anything else and so i could make the changes.

btw i was only guessing this is what i need to do.

when i returd to my data folder all the .SHIP files were turned into notepad docs.

the flies types is still displayed as "SHIP file" but i am not sure if they will run in the game like this.

i would try myself but they are all later techs that were changed so it would take me like a few days. one of the ones that were changed was "starbase" (it stoped showing the ".SHIP" at the end. i changed it (+1 hp) to test to see if it would change it in the game and the star base didn't cause a CTD like i though it would but there was no change.

what i am asking is 2 parts.

1.will this take those ships out of the game and make it crash and if so how do i fix it.

2.how in the H*** am i soposed to mod stuff then.

They're probably showing up as notepad files because windows has a option that will remember the program used to open a unknown filetype. They'll still work just fine. And you shouldn't have any problem modding stuff as notepad is fine I believe.
