| #220 by Citizen Lothmorg the Red - 9/15/2003 11:24:59 PM Try 2.0 instead of 2,0. |
|
Lothmorg the Red you're right! The GalCiv Writer turns the values into #,0 instead of #.0 as it should be.
HawaiiFive-O, I hope you will find the time to look into this matter. I think it's a very small bug.

Me again. HawaiiFive-O, about the ","/"." issue. It turns out to be a regional thing. On my PC the decimal symbol is a comma instead of a point. Problem solved! Sorry for the bug alert. Have a nice day!
| |
|
That's good to know.
Thanks.

Is the program working with the new version 1.10? Or some changes maybe needed?
| |
|
Whoops, sorry I've been out of touch guys and gals. I've been very, very ill but have finally turned the corner (crosses fingers).
OK, so to catch up:

| I've got two questions for ya. When making a new event is it ok to use 24/16M PCX images instead of 8/256 ones? Stardock seems to use those. If I have to reduce to number of colours it really ruins my event image. |
|
I've only got it to work at 8/256, 640x360.
| And the second question... I created an anomaly which should increase my survey ship's defenses by +2 points (Power=2,0), but when came across this anomaly in the game my defenses went from 44 to 946 (or something like that)!?! Ehhh, that's 902, not 2. What did I do wrong? |
|
It's the regional settings for a decimal point. Orangebear had this same problem. I haven't thought of a clever solution to this problem yet.
| Thank again for the Writer! |
|
You are welcome!

| Hey Hawaii, Love the program hope to see more updates from you! |
|
Next update will be this weekend. I've just got to download the X-Pack and look for more changes and then compile. I've been keeping up on the changes as Stardock put them out so I should be in good shape.

Thanks bud, can't wait to start all over again. Do you think that the old mods should be redone, or will they work with the exp pack?
| |
|
All the mods that I've downloaded (or created myself) seem to be working fine with the XPack....

Both the Writer and GalCiv work just fine with mods written for older versions. 100% backwards compatible.
| |
|
| (and sorry I had to stop beta-testing early on...work, work, work). |
|
No worries.
I'm glad you like it.

Version 1.3.0 is posted. It's got some bug fixes + it fully supports the changes made to GalCiv by the X-Pack. Grab it while it's hot!

Try using the 'Synchronize 2 Files' function in English.str editing.
Instructions in the Help file.
I use it all the time, it works like a champ.

Hey guys. I finally have decided to look at modding. Anyway, I downloaded the Writer and installed it, then downloaded and installed the latest update. Something must have went wrong though, because there's only two options to mod. I'm at work and can't remember which ones, but what's the deal?
Please remember, I'm a total newbie on the mod forums...be gentle.
| |
|
What do you mean by options, like only anomalies and events?
That only happens in the old version of Galciv, in the new version you should be able to create in any of them.
| |
|
Hmmm...wonder what I did wrong then? I'm only getting two (I think it is anomalies and something else). Do I even need to download the updates? Or should I just download the Writer and use it by itself?
