I know that when you go to start in your toolbar at the bottom of the page and you look for galcivwriter it should give you the newest update version, try that and let meknow how it goes.

I mean you hit start, go to programs and then check you will see galcivwriter, check to see if that is the newest or the oldest version.

Theoden use this link to get newest version files ->http://www.ctuit.com/bill/GCWriterv_1_3_0.zip Link
unzip the files into the place you put the original version and overrite the old files. this will upgrade to newest version for you.

There are no more betas for the GalCiv Writer. The last version was 1.3.0 which was updated for the last expansion pack. There has been no more updates since and I doubt there will ever be another. Hawaiifive-O has not been heard from for several months. If there are any programers out there that know VB6 well, I believe GalCiv Writer was written in that.

Hut101 i sent him an e-mail couple of weeks back and he replied fairly quickly. maybe someone with VB6 knowledge could get orriginal program from him

#257  by Citizen Bill Ko - 1/7/2004 10:20:19 PM

I have modest VB6 experience, but I took a look at some of the sample routines he gave me to learn from, and though I understood what he was doing, in VB prowess, I am to him as a microbe is to a human being...

Sorry

Bill

I am going to e-maial him and see if I can get the raw files to the GalCiv writer and start working on it a little. I have very little programming experience but I am right now in a programming class and I might as well try actual programming.

I've had a peek at some of the code and it has some pretty advanced concepts. Not for the faint of heart, nor the uninitiated.

He is probably angry with the people who constantly hijack ANY thread and fill it with SPAM to join their empire. I'm sure that they don't realize that it's spam, but it is, because I have to sift through unrelated garbage to get to the information I was looking for.

Ads for joining an empire do NOT belong in a Mods forum!

Thought I'd better get this thread back on topic. This is an excellent tool and is extremely easy to use.

Bill Ko, do you have any of the code. A little. I still want to see if I can do anything with it. I am not very advance in programming but I would like to just see. Thanks.

I think Bill Ko needs to stop getting angry for silly things, this is a game in first place and getting upset because someone invites another person to visit a forum doesnot qualifies as Spam. This area is an area where many people come with different questions and requests and we owe to help those with needs as we were help in the past when we started playing this game, you cannot ask everyone to follow your lead in sticking to a particular topic, because every topic is interconnected with all the aspects of the game.
Mods help to improve no ONLY ONE AREA OF THE GAME, mods affect ALL the areas of the game in one way or another, if you want people to stick to the topic, just do as Theoden did, don't get upset with the people and just take the tread back where it belongs.

This is about mods so lets talk about mods, do you need any help with mods? I am more than willing to help you in any area or aspect of them.
