Which Library Mod Causes the Game to Crash?

Here's my situation. I installed all the library additions, played a game, and it crashed after about the 100th turn. I reinstalled, afetr cleaning up the directory, rea-dded the mods, and it crashed again, in the same way. So I uninstalled, cleaned the directory, and reinstalled with no library mods. Anyone have any ideas which mod causes the crash?

Well, they deleted the mod I know had problems, but its possible you downloaded it prior to the deletion.

Look through the mods, if you find one called "labour.event" then follow these instructions:

If that isn't it, sorry, there must be another buggy event I haven't seen yet.

I had same thing. Put in all mods from library and first game crashed on first elections, removed modded parties. Then started next game and it didn't take long and game crashed, so removed all mods.

I have been wondering if those mods are tested by Stardock staff, or if they could later combine some mods to package after they have tested them.

Or if there is some log file or something that could be checked to see what event went wrong when game crashes..

Same for me, crashes whenever I try the pack of mods that was uploaded last week. Now I stay away from the mods, it's sad, but we need some way to at least *know* what mods make the game crash !
Currently the game just CTD, and the debug.err file has log of the errors, but doesn't tell what event/tech/etc caused the crash ...

Ya I was really getting frustrated after I decided to ownload the whole library. It took me hours to go 1 by 1 till I found the Mods that mad it crashed. Theres also one that makes it crash when ever a UP issue comes up.

There's a group of people called the "Morrowind Beta Testers Group." What they do is beta-test new mods and make sure they're stable, etc.

Of course, Morrowind's mods are more complex, but I don't think it's necessarily hard to break games with mods, especially if you forget that certain fields aren't allowed spaces.

Anyway, something like that certainly couldn't hurt here.

i said i was going to, but then 2 things happened:
1. i didn't feel like giving into people who just nagged me for posting non-functioning mods, they almost implied that i was the one that made them so sucky, about 75% of the mods on my site do work, just that someone downloads two that dont and say everything on my site is some sort of virus or something

2. i'm lazy/busy/too tired to worry about helping others on such levels

It also seems that the updated Water Aliens event crashes the game, at least it did for me using Windowed 1.02. I don't know what was changed in the event but as soon as I removed it the game started fine.

James,

I wouldn't worry too much about it. That is, anyone can make a mistake like that, and having someone else to look at it can't hurt - also, Hawaii's editor will make it easier to avoid those mistakes.

I understand your feelings, though.

Jeff George - I took another look at the updated Water Aliens event and tested it 6 times, both in windowed and fullscreen modes and choosing the good/neutral/evil options and got no crashes. This is with 1.03.54, perhaps updating will solve the problem?

Nephrinn,

OK. I will try updating after finishing the current game. Can you say what it was that you changed in the event? I'm just curious.

Couple of things..

-Fixed it so that the Research bonus actually works, I mistakingly had it applying a bonus to defense I think.
-Mistakingly applied an attribute to the good option when none was necessary, both the attribute and the option fields are now at 0.
