I did not see any threads on this subject at all. I was wondering if Frogboy or someone from the dev team could give us some sort of criteria for making mods that could/would be certified to allow score submission to the Metaverse? I am sure at some point you will find a way to address those people who love adding mods to the game the ability to submit scores to a metaverse type scoring system. For now I would like to create a series of mods that will not stop you from submitted to the metaverse. Is this possible yet or will it ever be possible for us to create such mods? Thanks.

*bump*...?

This is still the million dollar question. Here's an idea, Stardock, why don't you guys set up a round-table with us modders and we can all work it out so we know your expectations but can take our input?

I vote for a simple parallel submission and scoring for MODDed gmae scores.

That way any modded user computer will go into a blanket scoring that can be, or not be taken seriously. if they are far differant than non-modded scores than the user base will see it, and judge for themselves.

Personnally I don't take the metaverse scoring so seriously since uploading scores is spotty anyhow. And it really is a game of competeing against your own best games. And i would rather not see so much threads about a non issue, if all mods are oked for the MODDED scores.

The other nifty thing about the metaverse is the AI download the data to become better players. I also like the idea of Empires. Empires competing on a world scale, in our case we see several other websites that we are friends with. Everyone likes a little competition even though in a way it is not balanced.
At CDG we are going to start the Galactic Civ Hall of Fame. This will be for modded games only. Just an idea we had for people who love to mod games and play them. High scores really mean nothing to be honest it is the entertainment of the game that counts. I am not that good at GC yet, but I will still play regardless.

It would be nice to see some good "certification guidelines." Naturally, nothing needs to be set in stone, but describing what a good range for penalties and bonuses would be, and why it's never a good idea to make neutral better than evil or worse than good choices, and so on.
