SB mod on a ship?

I'm sick of building constructors and sending them to starbases.

To streamline the process I'd like to make a ship with a starbase bonus. Then I can just build them and leave them in orbit. No more hassles.

I've tried adding "ProductionAssist" to a ship ability with no luck. Any ideas?

If we can get this to work, then its a simple exercise to build a set of orbital factory ships that duplicate the cost and bonus of various sets of SB upgrades. For starters, the 10% production assist would cost 300 (2 constructors). Later in the tech tree when you can build 120% bonus with something like 7ish constructors, there could be a orbital factory X with 120% at cost of 150*7.

Any ideas on how to do this in a mod?

Cant be done. Ships are ships and Star bases are star bases.

Not that I can do it but would it be possible to mod the constructors so that they can build more then one module. That would quicken things considerably would it not
