Stardock needs more software developers for its upcoming game projects.

Requirements:
+ Must already be proficient with C++
+ Must know how to use Visual Studio compiler / debugger
+ Must be somewhat familiar with DirectX

The positions would require working with licensed 3D engines, programming, etc.

I personally never had a problem getting a job dressed either way. It's GETTING that first interview that's the hardest part. You have to get to bat in order to hit the ball. Make sure your resume is FLAWLESS. No stupid typos or misspellings. Don't clutter it up with useless info, but DO go into detail about things that you feel should be highlighted. If you can get to that first interview, your chances of getting a job go from 0% to who knows? Personally, every time I got to the first interview, I also survived the last one. I'm not saying this to toot my own horn; what I's saying is that if you can get that first interview, your chances of landing the job skyrocket. (I guess anything is better than 0%!)

Where are Stardocks's offices located in the US. Can you work from home?

Guess you don't need any accountants, huh? I can add really well

I believe they're based in Michigan, USA. So, you'd probably need to be willing to move there.

Did you guys ever get your hire? I'm presuming so...

Need a database guy? Been paying the mortgage for the last few years by getting data into and out of databases, via C++ (and a few other languages and technologies).

You know, I'm a little surprised that most of the save game storage is simple flat files. Very interesting approach. But is that why the Influence of the galaxy isn't saved out when everything else is? Seems like one file giving the value of the galaxy map in Influence would take care of that lost/reset on load issue.

Frogboy has said before Stardock doesn't do the translations, Strategy First does.

I tried to contact Strategy first but I don't think that they are interested.

There are times, when playing, when I wonder if they need an English to English translator.

If you want to do a Spanish translation, you could do it, send it to me, and I'll make a link to it for people to download.  Someone already made an updated French translation for me that I just need to test with before I post it.  I probably could do it myself since I took 5 years of Spanish, but I just don't have the time.

If games programming paid as well as the commercial sector, id be the first to send my details, but they dont ... I dont think i would have been able to retire at 25 to the coast like i have done if i had stuck with games programming

This sticky thread is still up. You guys still looking for C/C++ coder help? Or is thread just been forgotten about?

DarkSpire, if you are retired, then you have plenty of time for fun. Like working for Star Dock!

I'd reall love to have a look at the GC-AI-code and would like trying to improve it.
Is it possible to get an uncompiled version of GC?
