ok i'm relativly new to GC and i'm already starting to wish there were some changes (mostly graphic ones) and i was wondering how do i open/edit/save the original or new ship models?

You need the ship encoding software from this MOD forum and a software program that can do alpha channeling such as Paint Shop Pro.
1 bmp file 120x120 (Icon - build ship picture)
1 bmp file 64x64 (use the Stellar Frontier rotator)
1 bmp file 24x24

Then alpha channel and save the files as .tga
If you read the Star Trek Encoding message, you'll find out more information concerning this. I tried but haven't any luck doing the alpha channeling.

The images are in the .mdl files in the Gfx directory; constructor.mdl, battleaxe.mdl, etc.
