I've made a new modpack, filled with a bunch of addon starbase modules. You can get it, plus the updated Enhanced Terraforming mod at the following link. Enjoy.

Also, I've added a "cheat-mod" I made to the site. This mod I've appropriatly named CheatStation, and it basically makes the game insanely easy. I just kinda made this one for the hell of it, and you probably shouldn't use it if you plan to submit your games to the Metaverse. Enjoy.

The Cheat station has an odd side effect of increasing the spending on a planet. Any idea why?

Neat little mod by the way.

I hadn't noticed an increase in planet spending, since by the time I've got one of these built, I'm already spreading across the galaxy like a plague. I'll take a look at it and see if I can figure out the problem.

For the time being, think of it as a way for the game to punish your for your cheating.

I don't think it is an issue with the mod because I can edit English.str so that PQ gives me a 500% bonus, and get the type of effect.

I tried the cheat mod. It is a pretty good learning tool and fun to play around with. The AI doesn't take long to figure it out and everybody is playing with 100+ planets. It appears that it will need to be removed to play a straight game. I assume the AI would use it even if you don't.

There is something going on with the economy but I don't think it is your mod. It seems to be a scaling thing. I think that when the research slider is up and you are getting next month techs, there can be a huge amount of waste per turn. Setting the sliders is very tricky with this mod.

Originally, the Cheat Station was made so I could easily make/test new mods without having to play through from the beginning and deal with all the building up stuff, just to make sure if one of my new mods is working properly.

I figured that I can't be the only person on the planet that enjoy's cheating at games, so I posted it. I think the reason that planetary spending increases, is because of the sudden increase in PQ. This is only speculation, but it makes sense. A small, crappy planet won't cost as much to maintain when compared to a 100+PQ planet with a Gaia type ecosystem. It would cost quite a bit to maintain that ecosystem when you've got billions of people living in it also.

I agree that it makes sense for a 100+ PQ to cost more to maintain on if something is done to the planet that has a maintainece fee attached to to. There is not a maintainece fee attached to the racial pic or the cheat station.

But I really don't want to hi-jack this thread and it really isn't that important, so......Back to conquering glaxies I go.
