I started out playing around with the galciv-writer (WOW, Hawaii - awesome piece of work!) and got some nice ideas for events I'd like to write and upload.
My main problem is that I lack pics... and I haven't got the skill and time to make them myself.
Does anybody of you have some pics or links where I can get some pics that would fit into galciv?
I'm only interested in stuff that can be used without getting into copyright-trouble!

You are in the exact same boat as me, plenty of ideas, don't have the drawing skills to carry them out.
I'll be very interested in any response you get.
I'm willing to play opposites with the artist too, *you* give me the picture, *I'll* come up with an event that fits.

Over on www.WinCustomize.com there're some cool abstract wallpaper designs that the designers may let you use if you ask them (there's some cool guys over there).
Also, I think an "art scraps" section in the library would be cool. Artists could upload random images they've made for others to use. I know the art department could come up with some images to get the ball rolling, and perhaps I can recruit some guys from WinCustomize to help out.

"art scraps" idea, way cool. I'd love that. I've already gone through the pcx's not currently used in the \GFX directory (there's a few) and made my own events for them.
Will have to check out WinCustomize.
Anyone know of any other sources for graphics?

i made some images myself with bryce and photoshop and i converted them to pcx and made them the same resolution as the pre-existing event images but in game only part of the image shows up and the colors are warped. anyone know what i'm missing?
BTW if anyone wants me to help with creating an image i would be happy to.

I started to use Terragen (creates nice landscapes) and photoshop 7. I can try to make images to some of your ideas?? But i'm not yet very skilled image creator..

I found out that I really don't have the time to make events, as much as I'd like to. And I don't know if my english is good enough to do the flavour texts.
But the ideas are still there, so I thought about this:
I'm gonna start another thread later where I will post short descriptions of my ideas, and whoever has got the time can write the acutal files.
