I have an idea... or a question...

Can you link certain events, so that a chain can occur? Or is this beyond the limits of the program?

Take the event "Drengin Exile"

You've got three choices: refuse him (good), accept him (neutral) or promote him (evil).

If you chose the good option, in a couple of turns it comes back to bite you (you know the saying, better the devil you know than the devil you don't...). One of the other civs (maybe even a minor) get him and become a fantastic military power, threatening all.

If you chose the neutral/evil option, the same thing happens - but it comes from the Drengin who are upset that you're harbouring one of their criminals. They're also afraid that you know now their secrets... afraid enough to declare war...

But these would be new events, with their own choices. If you chose the good option and now another civ is top dog do you a) Organise a "coalition of the willing" (excuse the term) to attack them just for one bad guy, or b) begin spy efforts to 'deal with the problem' or c) ally yourself with the new regime.

If you chose the other option, do you a) turn him over in exchange for prisoners (maybe a pop bonus?) or b) turn him over but demand a tribute agreement, or c) declare war.

In a nutshell, no matter what you choose there will be a follow up to this event later on down the track. There is a precedent for this: turn 1, an evil is brewing on planet such-and-such, what do you do? You've done nothing, so on turn 2 (or whatever) Evil Force has risen and is gunning for you. Not quite what I mean with the above, but maybe it can be adapted?

Am I just lost, or is there something here that can be tapped?

By the way, I used the Drengin Exile event as an example because it's a cool one. (Duglis, was it yours?)

Currently the only linked events are hardcoded.  I suppose that it wouldn't be really hard to add code to link the moddable events.

Please, please, please, please, please! With sugar on top.

I was really hoping this would be added to the X-Pack...

I also woulf like to be able to create linked events.

I would like to able to create events that are not random. Events that occur on a particular turn. Events that occur if you/someone does a particular thing.

Please with sugar on top.

I think that Triggered events would be more of a Gal Civ 2 thing, because there's a lot of places that we'd have to add checks.  You can make colonization events.
