As I have stated in the Galctic Forums I don't like the so easy exploitable Minors and asked for an option to start a game without them... Now I had the idea, that this maybe can be done by modding... can it? If yes, how?
Think of Minor Races as the Third-world countries of the GalCiv Galaxy... but yes, It would be nice if i had the ability to turn them off and on... especially the Carinoids, somehow they always get ahold of trade goods and wonders faster than the Major Races in my games.
3rd world countrys that give me 150/50 every couple of turns whenever I have some new Techs for em? Hum... They spoil the gameplay a lot for me! I don't care abot the minors that randomly spawn in lategame but those starting minors like Alexians and Carinoids are too much of an factor in Galaxys smaller than Huge.

I don't know of any way to mod them out.
You could always not sell them any tech. If you feel it is an abuse, don't do it.

Yes but they also act as buffers against the majors: Major civs will most likely demand tribute from the minors first, so they make your life easier even if you don't mess with them. True, the ai will get money from them, so your life may be harder. Anyway they change the game but you can't do anything about it.
A slider option for the number of minor races would be cool...
