Display Change ?

I am new to playing this game. My only concern is that after playing for half an hour or so the Menu Display changes to a diferent style. I know it has to be part of the game but i do prefer the graphics before the change.

I would just like to know why it changes and is there anything i can do to stop it.

Still a cracking little gem of a game though!

The menu display changes if your civilization becomes really good or really evil.

The choices you make in the random events can make you more good or more evil.

The top choice makes you more good, the bottom choice more evil. The middle choice keeps your civilization the same.

The display starts as neutral. To stay neutral, always pick the middle choice in random events.

Perhaps this will help you choosing your alignment:

The following tips are collected from older posts in this forum:

"From a strategic point of view, the benefits of good (more likely to exchange trade, a trade booster wonder, trade centers planet improvement, more likely to ally, and immunity to the fundamentalists minor AI) may lend a benefit over the entire galaxy.

The evil choice may lend a benefit mostly on one planet in the galaxy (like a nice big PQ boost) and actually cause problems over time (less trade and watch out for the fundamentalists).

This is a generalization of sorts but some might find good a little easier on big maps with abundant habitability while evil might be easier on smaller maps or rare habitability.

So far those seem the major strategic advantages of good & evil to me. Can't have too many trade routes or too many bc but those fundamentalists can wreck a good party

The difference between your morality and that of any particular AI seems to affect how fast your relationship degrades...

If you are good, good races will like you more, evil less..."

Hope this helps you a bit.

Thanks for the replies!

It's not in my make-up to be too evil. I have to live by the ways of the Jedi.

Hi redfox62,

you are very welcome to join the Jedi Empire *
http://www.galciv.com/metaverse/empires.asp?id=336 Link

But be warned. The dark side of the force is very powerfull and even a Jedi is not immune

We need assistance to keep our 3rd place

* Basically empires are nothing else as a list of players who join their score to compete on an additional level. A simple "join" click is all what you would have to do. But empires are more than that. They are a community, they are fun.

I have joined the Jedi Empire.

I don't know how to use the empire or how to speak to other members.

But the force is strong in me!

Welcome redfox62

You already "used" the empire by submitting a game

When you are a member of an Empire your score does not only add to your player but to your empire as well. Check the Metaverse button on top of this side.

To get in contact with the Empire you can use the Empire Thread in the Empire forum http://www.galciv.com/forum.asp?BID=GE&id=130416 Link

Don't forget to visit the empire site http://jedi.galciv.org/ Link
