Well Ive jumped on the band wagon late in the game, this is my first turn based strat. game ever wich I purchased just a few days ago. (the delux ed.)I must say its a bit of a learning curve for me, but I think its gonna be worth the time and sore eyes it takes to learn. One quick question though, do you guys think this is a good game for someone like myself who previously has only played rts and rpg games? Do you have any other recomendations in the genre?
I hope I can get the hang of this game in time for GC2

I believe you'll have about a year to "prepare" for the release of GCII. (probably a bit less than that)

For ways to improve your skill at manipulating this game, I would reccommend that you visit the "Strategies" thread on the left Nav-Bar, and also consider joining an empire to enhance your game playing experience. Although this is a single player game, your involment in the on-line community can really add a LOT to your enjoyment of this wonderful game.

To visit the empire's page see the left Nav-Bar (2 Buttons below the Strategies button.)

There are many great empires to check out, and I expect we'll see them again in GCII.

To all NEW owners of this game:
Ask your questions here, you'll usually get several very good responses to your questions.

Hey beaglegod welcome to the community and be sure to stop in at NeoTech Games Network Link where all players and friends come to meet and discuss the game.

I will give you about 2 weeks with the game or less and you will have it down and moving up the levels. It really is a easy game to play but it takes a long time to master. Star Fleet is a good Empire to check out, of course I am bias. All of them are good.. Just had to plug Star Fleet. We have fun as we mock the series a bit. Like I am the science officer.

You made an excellent choice. You won't see many action in this game and you need some patience. But when this is o.k. for you you will never regret that you buyed this one.

Hi beaglegod !

Even Iīm a virgin to GC as well , I already can tell you really made a good choice. I have mastered several turn-based strategy games but this one belongs to the very few with a special feeling while playing. Hard to explain, since in general thereīs always the key question to like or hate this kind of games, but this one really has itīs moments... it indeed should keep you busy till GC2

Its great to see such a friendly community, and one thats still alive after over 2 years of GCs release. Ive just taken mr spooks recomndation ,and joined the starfleet. Im having a blast with this game, cant believe this slipped past me for so long. Im certainly glad this was my first experience with the genre as opposed to Master of Orion 3, otherwise (if the dozens of reviews are correct) I may have missed out on what may become my favorite form of gaming.
