Currently, the maximum population increase per turn ins 200m people, no matter the size of the population, or population bonuses.
Is there a way to increase this by modding a file somewhere?
This limit is reached very quickly, with or without pop. bonuses, and I would like the ability to adjust it.

Yes

Nope

This limit is reached very quickly, with or without pop. bonuses, and I would like the ability to adjust it.

Why? What is your current year? What are your gowth bonuses and the morale of your planets?

More, it is useful that population growth is capped since population is a very important factor for morale.

I always play small map at crippling level with all 9 majors/monors.
I typically have wiped everyone out militarily by 2185, and have 50-70% pop bonuses by then.

Morale is absolutely not an issue, because that is so easy to overcome.
I max out on pop growth very early on, which is why I asked the question.

So, if anyone knows how to adjust the max cap growth, please let me know.
Thanks.

Well, ending in january 2190 (or after) will give you 100% more points

Morale is absolutely not an issue, because that is so easy to overcome.

What are the PQ of your planets? What are you picks and pol parties? Are you using some specific mods?

Yes, with lots of pop bonus, the cap is rapidly reached. See here http://www.galciv.com/forum.asp?BID=Gs&id=155077 Link about some nice numbers (post #15)

So, if anyone knows how to adjust the max cap growth, please let me know.

That is hardcoded. I guess it is for balance issue.

So, you're saying incompetence is rewarded, then?
Giving double victory points for a late victory is insane.
Instead, victory points should be halved for every 5 years past a certain point.

Ok, just played another game, with 4 incredible and 3 genius opponents. Finished in 2182.
Getting bored with Gal Civ I, too easy.
Still a long wait for Gal Civ II.

No. Just that finishing the game too fastly shouldn't be rewarded too much

Instead, victory points should be halved for every 5 years past a certain point.

Now, THAT is insane. Having to fight hard for your survival and get nothing ....

Ok, just played another game, with 4 incredible and 3 genius opponents. Finished in 2182.

What are you suing for: pol party, picks, galaxy setting, mod.

Getting bored with Gal Civ I, too easy.

Try crippling medium abundant. Or play a maso game.

The game should measure results, not effort.
Effort only gets rewarded in Socialist Countries like France :} (just having fun)

If a person efficiently plays the game, he will win in less time than somewhat who is less competent.
That is why victory points should be weighted with time in mind (Quicker kill extra points, slow kill = a negative point bonus).
This fits the model in all Capitalist countries.

I don't want to get into a philosophical debate, so will not comment further.

I use a few mods, including one that uses the Jedi Party. While it is true this Party is available to all 9 opponents, I think I make better use of it than them.

I have a couple other mods from the library, but don't use any massive mod packs or anything -- just a couple improvements and ships.

Now, that is a pretty hard dangerous statement. And I know, it is possible to get 60K in less than 1 hour.
But is it fun? The game isn't aimed toward who can achieve fastly the win. The game is aimed to be fun.

BTW, what is your galaxy setting? Have you tried to play on differents setting (for stars, for habitability, for size)?

My rule of thumb is: if the setting you are playing is boring and end fastly, try another one

You should try a gigantic tight cluster. Military win won't be so easy
