We could try having an intermediary empire, one that in which recruits good or neutral can work to turn evil or realize that they don't want to be evil. That way the father empire will remain an all evil affair, whereas the training program will help any or all interested parties will be exposed to our way of life.

-Dark

P.S. I think we need to put our heads together and think of a good theme and backstory for our evil empire.

My opinion on membership is to keep evil as evil can be. As for a background story, Gerakken is never far behind with that. I have this working draft I have been developing for a Major Empire report since the Evil Empire is now in the top 10. Take a read of this and tell me what you think of this draft. (Oh, and apologies if the subject matter is a bit sensitive in spots, but you guys want evil, right?):

The Evil Empire has its roots in old Earth history. With the fall of the Nazi empire, several prominent figures including doctors delving into human experimentation, death camp wardens, and power seeking occultist Nazi leaders fled to Brazil. These figures stayed out of sight for a few decades, slowly building new lives and new families while passing on their violent traditions. Brazilian neo-nazi groups later formed around this core and attempted to destablize the Brazilian goverment in a long running guerilla campaign that included the assassination of several local leaders across the country. Early in the 21st century, the Nazis and their followers realized that they were no longer safe as the world labelled them terrorists and the international community started to aid the Brazilian government in fighting this threat. The neo-nazis who survived this new front in the "War on Terror" played dead and secretly moved to a remote coastal region near the border of Uruguay, but their old ways were still intact.

There was no real government control in the new lands. It was remote, mostly native-controlled territory. The Evil Ones, as the natives called them, enslaved the natives and used them for experimentation and slave labor. Expired natives would commonly be thrown into the sea or burned in furnaces resembling the models used by their Nazi forbearers. The Evil Ones who preferred throwing their slaves into the sea noticed hagfish would burrow into the rotting corpses to consume the dead flesh. These slimy, eel-like fish peaked the interest of the Evil Ones and they eventually engineered a very aggressive version that would gladly feast upon living flesh much like piranha. But despite the good life in the middle of nowhere with slaves, torture, murder, mayhem, and man-eating fish to entertain the evil masters, the world was changing after over 150 years in exile.

At the dawn of the colonization age ushered in by the invention of hyper drive, it was becoming very hard to hide from the "civilized world." Earth was no longer a place with a huge number of nation-states. Only a few large empires remained as nations in any conventional sense. Remote areas of the third world that did not belong to any of these large empires became the province of giant corporations who had free reign to strip the landscape of resources to sell them to the highest bidders. The Evil Ones were steadily losing more and more ground to development and having to pay their corporate landlords more and more bribes to keep hidden from the rest of the world who would come crush them in the name of civilization and "good."

The Evil Ones managed to buy a colony ship at great expense and decided to leave Earth behind. They took their slaves, furnaces, and giant tanks of their beloved hagfish along with whatever else was needed for the long journey into the unknown. As they journeyed toward a promising system close to Sol, the ship was swallowed in a strange anomoly that deposited them far away next to what looked like a perfect planet.

Scans showed a large population of Torians, but there were no ships or even radio signals of any type. A landing party ruthlessly and efficiently abducted some Torians and got the survivors to talk quickly enough after one of the captive Torians was fed to the eager super hagfish. These Torians were a seperatist movement who broke off from the Torian empire long ago. They disavowed both violence and technology due to a rigid set of religious beliefs. The Evil Ones were pleased. This planet was ripe for the taking. Offering both freedom and land to the shipboard slaves that had been brought with them, the combined might of the colonists quickly took the planet. This would be the seeds of a new empire, the Evil Empire, and it would start on this planet on the backs of Torian slaves.

Very nice Gerakken, I'm very impressed.

i think its kinda funny that hagfish got put into the story.

i just remember reading someplace that hagfish like to burrow into dead or dying fish and eat them from the inside out. i was thinking that if i was a dying fish, i would very much rather have a bigger fish chomp me in half then have some eel-like fish burrow into me and eat me from the inside. now what if we could get these hagfish to have a taste for humans? im sure many people would rather choose to die in the mouth of a 20 foot shark then dying from some small little stupid fish thats inside your body and eating your organs bite by bite.

That would make it quite evil to subject people to such a fate. That would suit us just fine.

Cypher, the legal Trojan plan worked perfectly. Now the young fools are engaged in endless legalistic debates about the formation and membership of their puny sewing circle. Perhaps we should send them some crochet hooks and a subscription to a knitting magazine for Christmas.

I knew there was a good reason we appointed you the Posse Attorney; as you once said to me: "There is nothing more evil than a lawyer."

“Blast them to hell!”

“Yes, Lord Bucman” replied the gunner as the flagship ‘World Champion’ fired another volley into the crippled dreadnaught before them. Crimson streaks crossed the void and penetrated the hull of the vessel floating helplessly above the lifeless planet. Like a supernova, the ship exploded in a blinding flash, ensuring no survivors would leave Skowbo alive.

Lord Bucman exited the bridge and entered the strategy planning center, where the metaverse was displayed in the holographic tank in the middle of the room.

“My lord, the GammaSquad and Apolyton are now fully engaged with one another. The tide could turn either direction.”

The 35 fleets of the GammaSquad had put serious pressure on the more numerous Apolyton empire, and it seemed that the GS would make inroads advancing through Apolyton territory. Much could be gained from this new conflict, thought the dark lord as he brooded in his command chair.

“Where is the nearest fleet?”

“Sovereign, the closest ship is the flagship of the GammaSquad” replied the lackey.

“Indeed… trail that fleet toward its target. At the conclusion of its war with the Apolyton ships, we will be in a position to destroy the survivor and conquer the remnants of both empires!”

“Yes, my lord” responded the helmsman as the giant ship slowly turned to pursue. Like a predatory animal, the ‘World Champion’ stalked toward its next victim.

“The reports from the G.R.O.S.S. traitor have proved most useful. When the time is right, he and his follower will turn from their master and follow the true dark force in this metaverse… the Evil Empire!” roared Bucman as his mailed fist smashed through the holographic image of the approaching fleet…

“Your orders, my liege?”

“Destroy them… destroy them all!”

Gerakken I'm always a fan of your stories, and this one is no exception. I mean who else would compare the Evil Empire to the Nazis? I didn't even think of that and I am and Evil Senator.

I would like to think that the Evil Empire is a composite of Evil villians who were united under the infamous HairytheTaco. So in theory Hairy is the desendants of the Nazis and the rest of us (or at least me) are seriously tormented evil men not necessarily connected directly to the Nazis (maybe indirectly rather than directly) I like to see myself as a Mercenary that for whatever reason (Haven't thought that through) was convinced to join Hairy in his quest for Galactic Domination.

How does that sound, at least for how members joined?

how about originally i sold my soul for a deal. i would be givin an extended life (if i was alive for WW2, and the colonization of space, i would be pretty ancient), in exchange, i would have to commit my life to evil deads. as long as i remain evil, i will live?

Sounds good, but now all of sudden where not strictly talking aliens and space, but now the devil as well. It might work.

Try this:

Instead of the devil who you sell your soul, about a Precursor? Which race is the evil race, connects you (but of course he is an alien so what you took as the devil was really a Precursor) that way the reign of evil lives on through the Precursor to you, Hairy, as the leader of the Evil Empire.

This is the type of stuff we need for our back story. Let's keep throwing ideas out there.

Draginol is the evil Precursor. It's a great idea to base the empire story on the Galciv backstory.

Ok, Draginol sees that the future of evil is in the hearts of men, but more specifically in the heart of one man, HairytheTaco. He travels to earth during WWII to meet the brains behind the Nazi party (Hitler being the head) and convinces him to live for another 1000 years or so to keep the spread of evil among men strong. Hairy misinforms himself of the beings true identity, he believes it is the Devil, but since Draginol are alien, they are easily mistaken for devils. Through Hairy Evil's hold on humanity was never fully destroyed, he survived whereas everyone else fell. He started the Evil Empire with his own hands (His slaves hands to be exact but who is counting the details)

Something like that.

See it's working.

that sounds good. i make a deal with a Draginol to have my body altered with alien technology to extend my life span. of course this being WW2, when aliens are something that not many people are taking seriously, i mistake the Draginol for the Devil. the Draginol tells me that in exchange for an extended life, i must follow the ways of evil

Now we're getting somewhere. Keep this going. I'll think of how I get involved with the Evil Empire and more importantly with HairyTheTaco. I invite others to do the same so that we have 1 complete story going.

I'm working on a story to get me from the prison in ringworm space into the Evil empire. That is, if Wild Wombat doesn't take the story in an unexpected direction first. I have tried to get it done sooner but time is going faster than me at the moment.

Even the snails in my letter box are going faster than me today.

That's ok, we haven't put a time limit on this just yet. But it's something to think about.

OK, you now have an entry in the Major Empires thread. May it help the spread of your evilness.

As usually Gerakken, you proven to be a wise spymaster. However, you must remember that not all of the overlords were there from the beginning, I had left the Terran Federation to join the Evil Ones and so I now have a part in the events to come.

Hairy what I tell you about eating all that KFD in one sitting.

chin up mate and see you back here in working order soonest.

*psst*

If I join another Empire, then, hypothetically, later choose, say, to defect to, for example, a certain Evil Empire... I can do that, right?

If anyone asks, I was never here...

#124  by Citizen HairyTheTaco - 9/12/2003 8:57:54 PM

of course, our only rules is that you must have an overall morality of evil -no good, no neutrals, and no empty morality (meaning no games have been submited).
