I guess I'm the only one who thinks (and backs up their thoughts) that a starTrek Based empire is a go..

I've had quite a few ppl say that its a good idea but like most good ideas it apears to have apeared at the wrong time. as its now been 3 days and i'm still the only one who has joined this great empire

If you have any reasons apart from already being in an empire please let me know what they are .. you never know I just may be able to help you out..

I'd hate to see this empire fold due to the lack of interest.. (or that I'm the only one in it..)

Hello captain!
I would have joined, but as the ring shows, I'm already engaged

It IS a good idea though.

Sometimes I change all the civ names to have something closer to star trek universe. I'm curious to see the star trek mod that was under work a few time ago. If it is ever ready, it could become your empire's official mod!

Some of the guys over at CDG started talking/working on that about six months ago. I have no idea how far they got, as CDG seems to have quietly slipped into obscurity around here. You may want to check their website, or ask a couple of the former CDGers who are still around...

Querk:

Aldar was plugging along for MONTHS before he got a recruit, as I recall. If you really like this idea, give it some time.

The Star Trek Total Conversion Mod has hit a few snags. We have no videos to replace those in game and with the help of rico44 (CDG member, I don't know if that is his name here) we now have some images to replace the still images. If you want all the data has been changed and ship graphics have been replaced, you can join the forum and test the mod out. It is for 1.13 and it might stay that way. I don't know what happened to our ship modder, turgotZ. We don't have any plans for updating the mod for the new expansion pack when it comes out since we wont be able to update the ship graphics. As for me I primarily update the data files and put all the files from other people working on the mod together so that it will work.

Don't give up the faith - it's a slow time on the Metaverse with people coming back from holidays; potential recruits are also waiting for the Altarian expansion. If the Jedis can make it, there's got to be room for Star Trek! (Wombat tosses olive branch from back of ute while driving past)

I agree with Wild Wombat: give it some time. A Star Trek Empire is a great idea. I'm surprised nobody thought of one earlier (if someone actually has, please tell me ). Many others who like the idea who also happen to be in an empire already my be too attached to it to leave at the moment, as you said. I hope you can get some people to join up with you soon.

If you decide that trekking is not the way to go, you could always become a centurion....

In the mods section there was a thread about it with a link to the website where those doing it, discussed their work.
See message #5.

I'm at work now, so I cannot go search for that thread, but I remember it was there. Sorry about the incomplete info, not very starfleet of me

#21  by Citizen Nastavnik - 1/13/2004 8:06:57 AM

Finally it wasn't that long (and my work is wuite boring at the moment...). Link to the thread: http://www.galciv.com/forum.asp?BID=GM&id=38798#113405 Link

But there was no activity in it in the past 48 days

Mr Spook, I would like having the mod as well. Can you give us a link where to download it, or do you need a email adress to send it too?
Thanks!

Spook took a glass of whiskey in his hand and looking up saw the real Spook looking at him with a twist of his eyebrow, so you are Spook, well then it is logical for me to change my name from now on I am going to be Spuk, and slowly walk away from the atonished Spook who then realized his mistake. Live long and treacherous my old friend wave back at him the new Spuk.

#23  by Citizen hut101 - 1/13/2004 10:14:29 AM

Spook looks up and sees his evil twin brother Spuk. "Why are you back?" with a rise of his eyebrow. "It is illogical for you to be here if it was important."

Sorry if I took your name I can change mine to Data's or Scott's.

Go to the link below. Sign up for the forum and then leave a post asking to join the modding group. You will then be given access to our hidden forums and there you will find a thread to download the mod. We currantly have two people testing the mod and they say it's great however we are running into a problem. One can't submit his game. I believe it has to do will lots of bonuses creating a flag for the game when it is submitted. I will have to work on that for the next version.
